Rooted in DIY Punk Rock ethos, Turnip Studios has grown from humble beginnings recording and repairing in my apartment for friends. Now, I continue this mission to help uphold the local music scene. Whether it's for the artists recording in their bedrooms on a cell phone, the bar bands playing to twelve people every weekend, or the touring bands just trying to hold it together long enough to make gas money to get to the next show; I will push to do everything I can to keep it all going.

Now for a bit about me...

My name is Cody. I've lived in the PNW my entire life. In middle school, I started playing drums the same year I went to my first concert (my Mom took me to see Primus), and from then on all I have ever wanted is to be involved with sound. I went through every band program I could and took lessons whenever I could. I was on the drum line, played Jazz (big band and small combos), played in Pep Band, Percussion with the Orchestra. Beyond school. I started working with local bands to book shows when I was 15 and that remains to this day whether it be with one of my bands, or me acting as an independent hub to connect people.

My mission is to share what I know and put my skills to use in order to share the things I love with other people. Be it through lessons, repairs, recording bands, or making music myself; I want everyone to feel safe, supported, and free to be the the truest version of themselves.
